July Events

July 21 - Guam Liberation Day
Liberation Day on Guam is a local holiday that honors the U.S. Forces return to Guam in 1944 freeing thousands of civilians from the tyranny of Japanese Imperial Forces. Visit our Micronesian section and learn more about Guam’s history, life and culture.

July 26 - SRP Final Party
Make sure and come to the Library event of the month - The Summer Reading Program Final Party. Everyone is guaranteed to enjoy themselves with snacks, drinks, lots of prizes including two big giveaways of outdoor gear valued at over $100.

Additional Services

Foreign Language Classes: Give us a 1/2 hour a day for six months and you can learn a new language! Put on the headphones, pop in a cd and follow along on the screen. It’s that easy! Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Russian, English, Arabic and others are offered.

Web Cam Program: The library now offers deployed forces and base personnel the opportunity to talk to loved ones face to face via internet connection.

TV Listings by Email: Having trouble getting through the Sunday TV listings in the paper? Stop in at the Andersen Library and sign-up for the new email service. Each day you’ll receive an email with recommendations for night time viewing.

Long Distance Bed Time Story: Are you away from home or about to leave? Visit the Andersen Library and record a bedtime story for your children to listen to while you are away. We have a private room for the recording, and the library staff will be happy to assist you with the technical stuff and finding the perfect book to send them into a dreamful slumber.
